CAD software is generally not cheap, of course, but if you already use it, then it costs no extra money to use it for bare-bones 3D rendering.
Many CAD programs provide fast, but basic, rendering of 3D models. Rendering quality of CAD packages is usually not fancy, but CAD renderings can be used as a reference, enhanced in a raster editor, or used when fancier images are not necessary. For those of you with access to a CAD program, it represents a "free," though limited, rendering option.
